Three-Minute Fiction Slam Competition

Three Minute Fiction Slam

Monadnock Writers’ Group sponsors a preliminary round of the statewide Three-Minute Fiction Slam competition. The competition is open to anyone to read three minutes of original fiction to our panel of judges. The Peterborough winner is invited to read at the state finals sponsored by the New Hampshire Writers’ Project (NHWP). You can read more about the details of the statewide competition on the NHWP website:

Upcoming Competition: February 5, 2022, 10:00 AM

Consider reading your fiction, no longer than three minutes long, for our Three-Minute Fiction contest at 10 a.m. on February 5, 2022.  We have two excellent judges for the contest and prizes for the top three finishers. Even if you are not interested in reading, this is a fun event for the audience too. It is surprising how creative people can be three minutes.
The contest is free and open to anyone to read or listen. You may participate in person at Peterborough Town Library, Eban Jones Classroom, or via Zoom, as described below.

The 2021 Three-Minute Fiction Slam Winners

Due to COVID-19 restriction many of the Three-Minute Slam Fiction forums did not meet and were on hiatus. As a result, only two groups met and held the Three-Minute Slam Fiction event in 2021: The Monadnock Writers’ Group and the Nashua NHWP Writers’ Night Out (WNO) Group. Consequently, there was no formal Three-Minute Slam Fiction Final for 2021.

Deni Dickler was the Monadnock Writers’ Group winner with her piece, A Rose by Any Other Name.

Kelsey Gallant of the Nashua NHWP WNO group won for her submission, The Breakup.

Each received a check for $100.00 for their participation in their group’s competition. Congratulations to Deni Dickler and Kelsey Gallant!
