George Duncan passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2018, at the age of 82. He was a dedicated and generous member of MWG for over ten years. George served on the Board of Directors, first as president, and then as public relations officer. His ideas led to new community outreach events, such as the Write a Haiku! project held throughout Peterborough at the town library and local businesses. George also served as a prose editor and sponsor for the MWG publication Shadow and Light—A Literary Anthology on Memory.
George was an award-winning marketing copywriter, who retired in 2008. He found new joy in writing creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and his blogs, Just Sayin’ and Watch Your Ads. His creative writing has been published in Ad Hoc Monadnock Online and Smoky Quartz.

In addition, a celebration of his life will follow at the Hilltop Golf Course, 49 High Street, Peterborough, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, featuring one of George’s favorite bands, Tattoo.
