A special fundraising event will be held at Delrossi’s Trattoria in Dublin, NH on June 8, 2014 with award-winning poet John Hodgen.
Billy Collins said of poet John Hodgen’s most recent book, “Heaven & Earth Holding Company contains a plentitude of delights. Like little stories told in the night, these poems are clear narratives crossed by mysterious shadows. And Hodgen’s tone occupies a singular place at the intersection of funky wit and true feeling.”
Hodgen’s previous book, Grace, won the 2005 Donald Hall Prize for Poetry from AWP (Associated Writers Programs). Two earlier books, In My Father’s House, won the Bluestem Award, and Bread Without Sorrow won the Balcones Poetry Prize.
Hodgen, visiting assistant professor of English at Assumption College, is the recipient of numerous other awards, including the Foley Poetry Prize, the Ruth Stone Poetry Prize, the Grolier Prize, an Arvon Foundation Award, and the 2000 Massachusetts Cultural Commission Artist Foundation Grant in Poetry.
He is also member of the Monadnock Pastoral Poets whose collection of poetry, On The Monadnock, was published in China in 2006.
There is limited seating (10) available for a pre-performance, private “Dinner with John.” E-mail Rodger Martin (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call (603-525-4715) to reserve a spot. Seats go quickly.
